Double sided tape for router templates. 3m is the probably best adhesive tape company in the world. I have also been able to do away with holding tabs on my through cuts because work does not move with this tape. You can get a roll of plastic carpet tape for two or three dollars and depending on how often you use it a roll can last for weeks months or longer. Stewmacs current double sided tape is not the worst but it requires too much fuss and do overs.

I have heard of using double sided tape for this but cant find a good. I am making some small wood pieces less than 6 x 6 and will be using a home made router table with a straight bit with bearing. This particular 3m brand of double sided tape is no longer available. Double sided tape for templates back to power tools.

Its useful for more than just templates. Double sided tape doesnt stick well to dusty surfaces. High tack double sided tape for router template fabrication resists lateral shift for accurate routing. I contacted 3m and they did not have a source to anyone else selling it.

I use it all the time on my cnc router to keep material in place during routing. 15d28 double face tape 1 x 36 yds i have used it a number of times this past week on curved mdf templates and flush trim bits on the router table and it really holds i mean really holds. I used this tape for the first time yesterday on my cnc router i have used other double sided tape and they either dont stick to well or they leave a residue on work piece.
